from the water treatment of cooling towers.
The storage of the chemicals and handling
of chemicals on-site is also eliminated.

CHEMICAL FREE
The elimination of a chemical water treatment program produces additional savings and benefits. A report from the United States Department of Energy in 1998 confirmed these additional savings from the elimination of these costs associated with a chemical water treatment program (besides the costs of the chemicals) are:

• Freight costs for the 55 gallon chemical drums
• Labor costs to handle the chemicals throughout the process
• Maintenance and asset carrying costs of chemical disposal equipment (feed pumps)
• Storage costs for 55 gallon chemical drums
• Disposal costs for empty drums
• Corrosion of equipment due to acidizing
• Blowdown water loss to control Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
• Heat transfer loss due to scale (increased energy costs)
• Costs of complying with OSHA regulation to report the storage,
  handling and disposal of hazardous chemical
